Vigilant has some exciting events and news to share with you this month! We discuss changes to Government contracting with the CMMC certification, updates with our Layer8 Intelligence Workspace solution, and explore the current state of ransomware.
What is CMMC, and why are businesses across various industries talking about it? CMMC certification is the US Government's solution to fix low rates of compliance associated with NIST SP 800-171, a pervious DFARS requirement. CMMC is not optional and is designed to only allow businesses with a valid CMMC certification to bid on and win contracts with the Government. The CMMC is a tiered model that addresses every business in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) from the largest contractors down to small subcontractors. Vigilant is already compliant with the latest Federal regulations regarding cybersecurity, and is working towards initial certification with the newest Federal cybersecurity standards program, CMMC. By choosing Vigilant you are choosing a company that has made cybersecurity a high priority, which means your data gets treated with the same value as that of the government.

On June 22, 2021, Vigilant released the latest version of Layer8, our AI-enabled Intelligent Workspace product. Our workspace uses a micro-AI engine to curate data acquired from adapters configured to subscribe to data published by a homogenous mix of data sources and provides a workspace to view and manage the curated information. The newest version of Layer8 provides even better data fusion and Natural Language Processing platform for rapid ingestion and analysis of a wide range of data sources, which are then used to provide up-to-the-minute business reports that can be used in analyst briefings and in support of critical decision processes for any business. Use our AI to turn your data into action in 30 minutes without hiring a data scientist.
Watch our recent YouTube video starring our Director of Business Development Dan Huffman to learn more about how Layer8 works and how it could change your business.

While the number of organizations being hit by ransomware has dropped, the financial impact of an attack has more than doubled, increasing from $761,106 in 2020 to $1.85 million in 2021. Ransomware continues to evolve to remain effective - learn how to stay ahead of ransomware, and how companies have responded to recent attacks in our latest blog post!
